I was experimenting a little with offset color techniques here. And making it look like an old film still too. I showed this to my 8 year old daughter, and she asked me if the bottom part was "sand or snow?" So maybe that old paper color is too much....

This Santa is great! So simple with lots of personality.
Nice santa. Yup, the snow could be a bit lighter, but it doesn't kill the image. Kids can be very literal. Maybe you could explain that the snow is discolored from soot which has drifted over the ocean from factories in China - factories which are producing all sorts of wonderful Christmas toys!
this is so well done. the effort you made to make it look like film really does the trick. if you do decide to go back and tweak the ground, maybe making it a cool blue would make it look less like sand. regardless, it looks fine the way it is. kudos...
